Recently, the nation mourned the death of revered Otago poet and environmentalist Brian Turner.
Six Dunedin poets – David Eggleton, Victor Billot, Kay McKenzie Cooke, Jenny Powell, Diane Brown and Richard Reeve – will read poems in celebration of Turner’s legacy, wild Dunedin and what it means to live and be in wild Aotearoa New Zealand.
The event will also feature a short film about Turner by film-maker Declan Wong in which Turner reads his poems, and a reminiscence by Turner’s close friend, Dunedin-based writer and mountaineer Philip Temple.
